Educator
I was fortunate to become an Educator for Keithcot Kings OSHC in early 2021. I applied for this role to help determine my future career goals and I am so grateful for the positive, fulfilling experience it has provided me!
Straight out of high school I moved to Melbourne to study my Diploma of Musical Theatre for two years, and after countless auditions found myself moving internationally to begin my performing career. I lived in Shanghai, China for two years, and spent another year in Paris, France whilst employed with the Disney Company. The Disney Company provided me with the opportunity to work with families from all over the world, and communicate with children creatively as not all could speak English. This led me to work with the ‘Make a Wish Foundation’, where I worked closely with terminally ill children and their families to create heartfelt memories with Disney Princesses, inspiring children through their stories in challenging times.
I was most recently employed by Royal Caribbean Cruises (Celebrity Cruises) where I performed as a professional dancer onboard the Celebrity Equinox. This opportunity was a result of discipline, hard work, grit and passion to audition and become successful in redeeming my ultimate career goal as a Professional Dancer. I believe the time has come to give back to my home community, and help others to achieve similar life goals. Working with children has always been a common joy, as I’d take any opportunity to involve them with my job title. In this instance it was dancing and getting kids involved in Theme Nights, or taking them on backstage tours.
Being an OSHC Educator has given me a chance to learn from and actively develop relationships with Children whilst assisting with their development and various skills. Being apart of this OSHC has allowed me to intertwine my creative, sporty, dancing spirit, with my passion for educating children to achieve and succeed in becoming the best versions of themselves.
Fun Fact: I was a part of the opening team for Shanghai Disney Resort in 2016. The park was dirt when I arrived and I was one of the first people to test the Tron Roller coaster.
